The sunniest day, yet
I have been waiting for this kind of weather for soooo long. Even though it is only March and in Germany, you can’t consider this time of year particularly warm or sunny. But last weekend was absolutely beautiful. We went to Belgium because a) I hadn’t been there in forever, b) I’ve stayed in a rather mediocre hotel for the past two weeks and couldn’t bare spending the weekend in that place and c) the hotel we went to is right next to the Maasmechelen Village, an outlet shopping mall. Need more reasons for a little weekend get-away? I don’t.
So on Sunday, it was literally SUN-day. The first beautiful, warm day of the year. Maybe I’m being crazy but do you know the smell of spring, when you open the window in the morning and the air is just so crisp and filled with bloomy scents? I absolutely love it. It’s that time when you still have to wear something cozy, hence the grey sweater I recently got at TJMaxx, but you’re ready for spring vibes in your wardrobe. The outfit I put together was pretty simple: I wanted to wear my new light grey/hint-of-lavendar wool vest because I had just bought it Saturday and had absolutely fallen in love. And again_ it keeps me warm! Plus, the grey chelsea boots make the style less casual compared to sneakers (and they are new, as well). So far so good: normal Lena-uniform with lots of greys.
Hence, I added my pink Hermes twilly. To me, a silk twilly is an absolute MUST in a woman’s wardrobe. You only need one or two in a flashy color and it will instantly amp up your outfit. Plus, it is a nice item to start your designer collection (in case you want to do that) because they are not crazy expensive. Also, twillies have been around for the past 20-or-so years, not only for flight attendants and female car rental employees, so chances are, that they are here to stay. And, last but not least, you can also wear them tied around the handle of your bag or tied in a bow on your bag… Well, you know by now that I don’t recommend buying expensive things unless you get the wear out of them. Twillies are definitely worth the money.
I hope you like the outfit, it’s perfect for any spring sunny day where you don’t want to be too cold but still stylish and comfy. And it’s a great way to transition into spring without splurging on new spring clothes while re-wearing some of you winter favorites. Hopefully, the pics will put you in the same happy spring mood which they were taken in. Enjoy!
