My favorite sunnies – summer 2017 edit
I genuinely hope I’m not too late with this post but I feel like there is still some time to decide which pair of sunglasses need to be the newest addition to your wardrobe. And which may have to go aka leave. So far, I only bought two pairs of sunnies this year. And I already know, that that’s gonna be it for 2017. But in case you are still looking for a great pair, I can definitely help you out here. As with shoes and handbags, I think every woman has a (secret) obsession with sunglasses. They always fit, they make you look gorgeous and complete every look. No further explanation needed. Plus, they are a great way of getting a designer piece on a moderate budget. The ones I own range between 90€ and 280€, but you can always check out different websites or the duty free shops to find a better deal. So let’s get started with my favorite sunnies for 2017.
Ray Ban Erika
I saw these sunglasses first on Camila Coelho and instantly loved them! I do have a thing for mirrored glasses, as you will discover reading this blog post, plus, I looove anything velvet. Well, maybe not velvet flared pants (disclaimer!) haha. Also, I do love a pair not everyone has and which is kind of a specialty. So there was no doubt I had to have them. Luckily, my boyfriend saw his chance in getting a birthday gift I really really wanted without having to break the bank or going crazy to find out what I would love. I got them two years ago and I still wear them so much, simply because I think they are a great and versatile pair without being boring. And they’re velvet. Did I mention that?! 😉 Check out any Ray Ban retailer like sunglass hut, mister spex in Germany or online stores. This is the exact model. Around 90€/80$.
Ray Ban Aviators
These are awesome because a) they are aviators (versatile, always look great, such a classic) b) they are mirrored c) they are pink. I guess I can end it here… Kidding. Seriously, I can’t even count how many times I’ve worn them since I got them a year ago. They are the perfect shades for summer because of their color but even though it’s a peachy pink, they don’t make you look like Barbie or a wanna-be famous housewife. They’re cool. I got them off amazon but you can also check the Ray Ban page. I believe you can also get them with a matte rose gold frame but I couldn’t find them anywhere on the internet, so I opted for the brushed silver frame. Between 100€ and 160€/ around 120$, so definitely check different stores (and countries) for the best price.
I first saw these with the black frame at Sunglass hut in Atlanta. My friend and I were shopping and both literally squeeked when I tried them on. But I found them to be too expensive and didn’t really need a pair at the time… So no buy at first sight here (per usual with me, I need to think about investments). But I always know, that when I keep thinking about a designer piece and imagine it with different outfits, it does make sense to just get it. So I ended up buying these sunnies almost six months later, via amazon buyvip. And waiting really paid off because I only paid 120€ instead of 230$! Oh yesss! I ended up getting the mirrored version with the grey tortoise because (one last time: I love mirrored glasses) I wear a lot of grey and so grey sunnies were just what I needed. Plus black usually looks harsh against my fair skin, so this was a great alternative. Check Sunglass hut if you are in the US, they may have them on sale by now, or amazon and ebay.
This is my FIRST EVER purchase from Chanel (except for perfume of course, but that doesn’t really count). I didn’t plan on buying another pair of sunglasses this year (already bought the D&G in 2017), but sometimes, things show up and you can’t say no… It’s called life, I guess. It was love at first sight because they are GOLD! But not your typical cheap yellow gold, no, a nice and subtle gold. And round shape. And mirrored. YES! Again, wayyy too expensive at the store (420€, are you serious?!) but I wouldn’t be me if I wouldn’t start searching on the internet right away, trying to find a better price. And so I did. Brille Kaulard (for those of you who are in Germany) has amazing designer (sun) glasses for really good prices. So I ordered the silver and the gold version online, only to figure out what I already knew: gold it was. I’ve been wearing theses sunnies non-stop and already got sooo many compliments on them. I just love them because they are edgy but very wearable at the same time. And they are Chanel!
Hope these quick reviews help you, in case you are still looking for a beautiful pair of sunnies. Happy summer 🙂
