Pink home office day

home office, work, what i wore, ootd, outfit, style, casual, laid back, comfortable, stylish, pink, sweater, ruffles, ruffled sleeves, zara, denim, happy socks, eat glitter with me, eatglitterwith.me

So, days of home office are really rare for me. Usually, I spend my days at the office(s) and drive a lot. But when I do get a home-office-day, I still can’t get myself to wearing athleisure or pyjamas. I like to get ready, feel fresh and put together while still being comfy. It just makes me feel more motivated and “ready” for the day. Also, I think this outfit would be great for a chilly spring day because you can always throw on a pair of sneakers and a leather jacket and be ready to go.

The no-brainer on a chilly spring day

Paige denim, Nike Air Max Thea, leather jacket, Gucci scarf, eat glitter with me, eatglitterwith.me

Spring is no fun right now. Not at all. The weather is too april right now and it is annoying. So instead of bringing you another fun and light-fabric outfit for the warmer weather, I can only offer long sleeves, light cashmere and my all-time favorite trainers. This outfit is super basic but I still wanted to put up an outfit post about it because I do love it. Even though it was put together to serve a purpose: not getting cold but still looking spring-appropriate. The great thing about this outfit is that you can switch it up easily, using different essentials everyone has in their closet, but always looking effortless and put together for a shopping tour, Saturday brunch, weekend stroll or the cinema. All you need is your favorite cashmere sweater (I’m sure you own at least one, if not, go buy one, you’ll need it!), a casual pair of denim, cool sneakers and a colorful scarf. Easy as pie.

A trench coat is always a great idea

Trench coat, blue shirt, Zara, denim, ripped, Gucci, espadrilles, Louis Vuitton, pochette, D&G sunglasses, Mulberry, eat glitter with me, eatglitterwith.me

Full stop. That’s what I should’ve added to the title but it looks weird so I kept it as it is. I’m sure by now every single one of us has understood the importance of a great trench. InStyle, Vogue and many style advisers have urged us for years to buy a classic trench because of its versatility and because it will never go out of style. Never ever. Funny, how a piece of clothing that was designed to keep soldiers warm by repelling the water while they were out on the battlefield is now a must-have in our wardrobe. Functionality determined the trench coat and yet it is a masterpiece of design.

That’s it for today’s history lesson, haha. I went for an all-classics look last weekend because a) the blue shirt I’m wearing in the pics was new, b) it was finally warm enough to wear my espadrilles which I bought last year in Atlanta (yes, I’m sentimental about these things) and c) it was not quite warm enough to leave the house without a coat and since the Maison Martin Margiela trench compliments EVERY outfit, it was a safe bet.

Denim bows and a blush pink bomber

Blush pink, bomber, fashion union, denim dress, bows, furla, air max Thea, Nike, ray ban, eat glitter with me, eatglitterwith.me

You will laugh so hard at me for saying this right away, but it literally took me three (!) attempts to buy this denim dress. No kidding. I saw in on Zalando’s website (German online retailer), thought it was super cute but too short. And I thought it may be too girly. Then, I saw it on sale, but it was only 10% off and that didn’t really strike me as being a good deal. Nevertheless, I did put it in my cart but ended up not buying it because I had no where to ship it to while I was moving houses. Soooo, luckily (for me and for Zalando 😉 ) they had saved my shopping cart and I rediscovered the dress. At 20% off this time. I’m not a believer in faith but if there is something like it, this buy definitely must have been it. I ordered it.

This denim dress is everything you need for spring: denim (always a win!), cute, long sleeves (keeps you at least a little warm), super flattering fit (in case those Christmas muffin-tops aren’t gone yet) and it has bow ties on the sleeves which, despite other ruffled tops, do not make you look like a professional football player. It doesn’t get much better. Oh, and one more bonus: it was only 26€ (about 30$). What a deal. I paired it with my fave blush pink bomber to keep the fun and fresh vibe but also add a little more edge to the look. And I love that it is finally en vogue again to wear sneakers with dresses. So comfortable!

Taking an outfit from day to night

Maastricht, outfit, leather jacket, furla, look, eatglitterwith.me, eat glitter with me

I hope you all read my post in which I declared my love for leather jackts. It was such a comfy, yet cute and cool outfit on a beautiful weekend. What I didn’t show you was how I transferred the look from day to night. I’m not good at keeping secrets, so I thought you’d like it if I shared the look with you. The outfit was based on a) me being lazy b) I wasn’t home so I only had a suitcase (carry-on!) of options to choose from and c) little time because I was starving. So I threw my shearling vest over the leather jacket. Guilty as charged: I ALWAYS do this when it’s slightly too cold for whatever outfit but I still want to wear it. Plus, I changed my shoes, to a more elegant Chelsea boot instead of trainers. And last but not least: my Gucci Swing bag had to take a break and I took my brand new Furla with me instead. Oh and of course had to add some kind of color with my bright pink paisley silk twilly from Hermès.

The sunniest day, yet

sun, sunny day, spring outfit, spring inspiration, style inspiration, eatglitterwith.me, eat glitter with me

I have been waiting for this kind of weather for soooo long. Even though it is only March and in Germany, you can’t consider this time of year particularly warm or sunny. But last weekend was absolutely beautiful. We went to Belgium because a) I hadn’t been there in forever, b) I’ve stayed in a rather mediocre hotel for the past two weeks and couldn’t bare spending the weekend in that place and c) the hotel we went to is right next to the Maasmechelen Village, an outlet shopping mall. Need more reasons for a little weekend get-away? I don’t.

Bring out ’em leather jackets

Spring outfit, casual look, laid back outfit, leather jacket, Zara denim, Nike Thea, air max, silver, Gucci, Dolce&Gabbana, eatglitterwith.me, eat glitter with me

The weather has finally decided to opt for spring temperatures and less rain so of course, my very first to-do was to get out my leather jacket. Not that I would ever burry it too deep in any storage because basically, I wear it all year round, but in cold cold winter, I definitely prefer a down coat… Anyways, it’s back now and I’m so glad it is that time of year again. I bet every one of you has that one leather jacket (no matter if real leather or vegan) that you love to bits and have worn it A LOT throughout the years. They are such versatile pieces and I pair them with everything and anything. So if you don’t have one yet or your favorite piece starts falling apart, get a new one quick, so you can life in it the next couple of months and if you are lucky enough for a hot summer, get it back out in October!

What I truly love about my leather jacket is that it is not fully leather but partly wool at the ends. I think it’s a cool twist to it. Also, the zipper is diagonal which makes it drape really pretty when I don’t close it and makes me look slimmer when I do. And it has well-sized pockets, and leather straps on the zippers… Did I mention the uber-buttery leather? Oh, and not to forget: the collar which is insanely convenient in cooler weather to keep me warm. So, if you’re thinking about buying a leather jacket, I highly recommend splurging because this piece will be your best friend for years and years and we all love a trusted friend who’s around to stay, right? If you’re looking for a more seasonal item in light pink or baby blue or any pastel-spring color: definitely opt for a more moderate price point because we never know if the cute pastel pink du jour is going to be labeled Miss Piggy pink next season…

Navy wool, fluffy black and white silk

view, view from my room, suite, Steigenberger, Steigenberger Düsseldorf, beautiful day, weekend, weekend get-away, duesseldorf, eatglitterwith.me, eat glitter with me

I had the perfect weekend last week: drove to Duesseldorf on Friday without getting stuck in a traffic jam, picked up my boyfriend at the airport and checked in at the Steigenberger hotel. So far, so perfect. I will post a quick review of our stay at the Steigenberger later on. Anyway, back to the outfit. I already talked about the navy wool fedora on insta which I got when shopping in Hamburg the other week. I’m still obsessed with it and it was just perfect for a slightly sunny, slightly warmer day when you just can’t be bothered to properly do your hair (and the chance of a down-pour is 40%).

Also, I love my denim with a ripped hem to give my outfit a tiny little edge even when staying at a fancy hotel where ripped denim is simply out of place between grandma’s huge gold chains and the complete LV travel set getting unloaded from a Bentley. Yes, it was THAT fancy (and kinda weird, too). I wanted to add some dimension while still sticking to classic colors, so I mixed black and navy plus layered a white silk blouse underneath the sweater, plus, adding a fur vest on top. And let’s not forget about my all-time favorite Hogan booties. They are perfect for a long walk (or shopping trip). All in all, the perfect Duesseldorf-Outfit to stroll down the Kö.ootd, fedora hat, white silk, wool sweater, hugo boss, zara denim, lookbook spring, spring is coming, eatglitterwith.me, eat glitter with me

Weekend get-away and an almost classic white shirt

When I saw this blouse on another blog, I HAD to have it. I’m not quite sure if I have shared my passion for white shirts with you yet. If not: they are my go-to favorite, my every day classic, they are what I reach for in the morning when my brain is still in sleep-mode and I need to put something on for work. Basically a life saver in every situation because they can be dressed up or down (did I mention versatile?! 😉 ). And there you have it: my love for the classic white shirt. I own about 15, maybe 20… educated guessing. Different shapes, always crisp white and I’m a sucker for everything white shirt with a little spin.

This shirt/tunic is great for spring as I’m wearing it in the pictures: ribbed denim, your favorite sneakers and maybe a faux fur vest or light jacket to throw over it. Done. For work, I’d probably style it with black denim (non-distressed), a cute pair of mid-heels in back, nude or red, and maybe a sharp cut blazer or a cropped wool sweater on top. The options for this piece are endless, plus the cuffs with the bow give it that little extra coolness and feminine edge as well as not being too crazy at the same time. And lets not forget the slits that give the oversize feel without your figure getting lost in a white bed linen. Looove!

Grey Winter coziness – The Rooftop Edition

I am going to admit it: As you read in my How-to-style-an-ugly-couch post, I’ve moved 5 times in the past year, BUT it’s not all that bad because I got to see so many different apartments and currently, I am very lucky because my apartment in Frankfurt happens to be amazing. A garage, bathtub, floor heating, wooden floor panels, pretty new, elevator and to top it all of: a rooftop terrace.

One of the many reasons why I love this place so much is the incredible view from my living room and I wish I could stay longer to enjoy every evening during the summer months out there. Well, it’s not happening because I am moving soon. Again. But I thought the least I can do to appreciate the rooftop terrace, while I still have one, is to shoot an outfit up there. And let’s not forget the convenience of having a homemade snack and freshly brewed coffee in between pictures 😉 And going shopping afterwards without having to carry my camera around.
