My all-time favorite hair products

hair care, favorites, Aussie, bumble and bumble, beach spray, shampoo, thickening spray, eatglitterwith.me, eat glitter with me

I could have written this text two years ago and it would have included at least half of the same products it includes today. That being said, I wanted to bring to you products which I have tried and tested over years now and which make me so happy that I still stick to them. But also, you guys know, that I still try new stuff which brings me to the products I’ve only been using for a couple of months now and been really really liking. Finding the right hair care is as hard as finding the right foundation: it can take years and the needs change so the products need to be switched out too. Basically, a never-ending story. At least I found my end of the haircare story, for now, and I want to share it with you because it might make your search just a tiny bit easier. Before we get into it, some details on what I’m dealing with on a daily basis: naturally blonde hair, no dying has ever been done, despite that my hair is a little dry, especially the ends. Very fine hair with little volume and quite some breakage (hence the fly-aways that are killing me in photos!), no curls at all which gives my hair zero body, fullness or any kind of shape. Woohoo, go me!

Shades of Pink – my favorite Lipsticks for Spring

chanel, rouge coco, romy, dior, lipstick, pink, review, Lancome, spring colors, eatglitterwith.me, eat glitter with meI can’t imagine any other time of the year when it is so much fun and I’m so excited to wear bright colors on my lips. Spring is the perfect season to go for a bold lip color and play around with pinks, purples and coral-shades. I feel like these colors are THE statement “goodbye” for winter and the bright “hello” for the bloomy and bright seasons ahead. I haven’t done many beauty reviews lately but I do really, really like them and so I thought, I’d get back into it by sharing my top 5 lipsticks for spring. Two of the shades are really bold colors and maybe not so work-appropriate (depending on where you work, of course) but also, I thought I’d include three really fresh and light colors ´which can be paired with any office-look. In the end: most of us work 5 days a week, so I figured that this might be important to you guys. It definitely is to me. So in case you haven’t already stocked up on your spring make-up wardrobe, here’s your inspiration, have fun!

My favorite spring fragrances 2017

perfume, spring, floral, Dior, guerlain, victor and rolf, eatglitterwith.me, eat glitter with me

Spring is finally here! I know, Captain Obvious, but for those of you who haven’t noticed or are sleeping under a rock, I just wanted to make sure… I’m so uber excited because it’s such a beautiful season, it brings a fresh start to our wardrobe and make-up and sets the mood for summer (which is even more fun, in my opinion). I already organized my wardrobe because I was moving anyway. It feels so refreshing to dig out your summer wardrobe, put the huge down coats in boxes and get inspired by all the spring/summer collections which are finally hitting the stores. Or, if they have already hit the ground, now is the time to wear them. Also, it’s time to switch up your perfume collection. Yes, you heard that right.

Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Review

Nip+Fab

I haven’t done a proper beauty review and I feel its about time. My skin (talking about my face) and I have a deep love-hate-relationship ever since. It’s been oily, sometimes more and sometimes less breakouts but always enlarged pores and never ever flawless. And now, developing further in the twenties, you would think that I have at least 5 years where there are no break-outs and no wrinkles yet? Haha, yeah right. No, I still have little zits here and there but the first fine lines start to develop too… Fun, right?! I’m not complaining, I’m just setting the scene here for this review and any other beauty/ skin care reviews to come. Right now, I would call my skin oilier in the T-Zone and normal rest of the face.

Springter nail polish, wait, what?!

Now that it is mid-February, I think it is safe to say, that winter is almost over and spring will be arriving soon. Hopefully sooner than later actually. But it’s still that time of year where I feel caught in between. Fashionwise. I want to wear my new pieces for spring but it’s too cold. Pastels feel right but when I look outside, I just want to wrap up in grey and black. So obviously, our make-up, too, is in a transition state. I just don’t feel ready for a bright pink lip and turquoise nail polish… yet. Which brings me to this post: I want to share my go-to nail polishes for the time in between winter and spring (springter, I know… right?!) with you. They are (except for my newest addition, which I HAD to include) no full-on spring colors but also, they don’t compare to your winter dark-reds and blacks and dark navy colors. Here they come:

How to – Keep your skin glowy during winter

The past two weeks, I have really been getting my spring vibes on. I bought tulips, took out almost all of the winter decor, did some shopping for warmer weather (I’m talking off-the-shoulder tops) and even though it is freezing outside, I’m already planning outfits for spring. In my mind, winter is almost over, which we all know: it’s not. But just because that is the case, I don’t see any reason to not have glowy skin and a healthy look to our skin. Yes, it’s super cold and yes, all the heated air inside makes us wanna put 5 layers of body butter on and never crawl out of bed again. But I have some nice and easy tricks and products to share with you which will ease the winter dullness. Promise!

Starting in the shower, it really helps not to have the water running boiling hot. It’s hard to resist, I know, but your skin will appreciate a nice, luke warm shower with this rich shower creme from Dove (don’t be fooled by the Amazon price, it should be around 2-3$ at your local Boots, Target, Wal-Mart or any drugstore)which gives you soooo much hydration for the skin. Plus, I like to use my Konjac sponge for the body (also available for your face) to really lather up the creme, massage it into the skin and give you the slightest exfoliation while massaging your skin. And moreover, through massaging, you will activate the blood circulation to help keep you warm from the inside out and your skin fresh and glowy.

A blog classic – Favorite beauty products of 2016

MakeupGiving the beauty section a head-start, I thought it would only be right by starting with my favorite products from 2016. I included only products that I started using in 2016 and that I have absolutely been loving in the past year. Of course they are on my re-purchase list for 2017 😉 and of course this post isn’t sponsored –haha (just in case you’re getting any funny ideas here).

To start with the base, I use my Caudalie beauty elixir every single day. Before I put make-up on and especially after I’m done with my make-up to set everything. It’s so hydrating, sets the powders and really refreshes my face. Also, it is great for travelling as well. And lets not forget the packaging: so sleek, elegant and luxurious. 32€/ 49$ is kind of a splurge on a beauty water but totally worth it, I promise!

To set my foundation, I always dust some Stila Illuminating Powder over it, right before I use the setting spray. This makes the make-up wear extra long and the powder does not make you look flat or cakey or anything. It gives you the slightest amount of a glow while still mattifying your complexion all day. Also, you only have to buy the packaging once and then just get the refill container (and save a little money). You can’t get this in Germany, so I always make my boyfriend buy it in the UK here when he’s there but I know for sure that Sephora in the US stocks this, as well.
